Tahoe Update

The Orphans Forum crew are having their annual leadership retreat in Tahoe.
Former Forum regular Makoto Agnoli was kind enough to host us in the Alpine Cabin.

Makoto's also been documenting the weekend, but now that he's no longer a contributor I've been forced to shamelessly leverage his content.

So instead of 75 photos and 2 incoherent sentences, you get the following, pulled from the Agnoli Posterous:

when pigs fly, or dogs

the view from my desk is pretty darn nice.  some would say distracting. i would say its distracting. a lot happens at my corner of the world; girls run by, cars run stop signs, bus drivers yell at motorist, bus drivers hit cyclist, cyclist hit pedestrians, hawks hunt gophers, people take pictures on and of the wind swept tree plus the occasional drug deal. the list goes on, its a busy corner.
today i saw something that has out done everything i have seen thus far in my short residence here. a dog fell from the sky and landed on a pedestrian. seriously. i saw it with my own two eyes. i was sober too. i mean, you just don't see that, ever. i did. i must be pretty darn lucky.
i am not the only lucky one in this situation. the dog got away with out a scrape(if anyone cares). my neighbor upstairs is not the dog owner(he is watching it for a friend). the dog didn't get hurt. my neighbor is lucky. unlucky, the pedestrian that the dog landed on. he kinda freaked out and ran off screaming. might have a slight case of PTSD.
but lucky me.

Makoto, i love you, but...

you are not giving me a reason to read posterous anymore. quit double posting here and there. give us some Orphan's Forum specific blogs.

whiskey and white russians

this is my first holiday season in quite sometime that i do not have significant other to share it with. i feel so lucky to be surrounded by great friends to help make it easier. still been tough. finding numb solace in two of my favorite things: whiskey and white russians. we've had a few.

I love San Francisco

it is one of the most beautiful places in the world filled with like minded liberal folks i can relate to. but, it sure is good to get out of the bubble every once and a while and see what is really going on in america. it is pretty much how i remember it from the last time i got out of the city, equally as beautiful in its own way but not quite as liberal.
