Christmas crossroads

Gnarly crossroad yesterday afternoon. Surf crappy wind swell slop, kite weird, heavy south winds in town or find the wife a Christmas gift. Note, I spent weeks seeking her requested gift and failed.. Pondered for a while sitting in the rain watching guys get mini shacks going left ( an anomaly in Santa Cruz). Put a herculean effort, charged down town SC, fought of fellow procrastinators, found a thoughtful gift (still have to find the original gift), barged to the Harbour and kited heaving (it got big quick!) south winds at the murph bar with 2 other guys. Christmas a day early! The harbor patrol tracked us down at the beach because someone had called in a kiter in distress, but I think it was just my buddy Jacob who crashed a few time and chose to go half a mile out into the bay on certain runs, which had me freaked out as well. Serious donuts on the 6 ft" shorebreak, especially when one lost their board. Start kiting, it makes boring, rainy, stormy days some of the most memorable experience. Merry Christmas.

  1. Merry Xmas "nor cal cold" even if you do live in central cal and happen to detest surfing the shark infested waters of nor cal.

How sorry are we, up early on Christmas morning only to open our lappies instead of our presents?

Since none of us can really relate to your kiting exploits yet, please get in the habit of posting any and all photos bros send you of you kiting.
