slc you later

An incredible weekend by the beach. The furthest i went from the water for 48 hours was an ill-fated oxycodone laced trip to the bar in the marina where i quickly sweated away the $40 of beer i had purchased and consumed earlier. went out this beautiful warm moon filled morning battling 10 guys for 3 foot closeouts wondering if this high pressure is ever going to end and wondering if i should wish for rain and snow or just stick close to home and enjoy the weather. heading to the adopted ancestral home of the mormon tribe on fri where the snow is plentiful and the streets are gridded. 100 west (1 block west of the temple) 200 south (2 blocks south of the temple) you get the picture. one never has to think too long about how far he is from a place of worship, which is both comforting and eerie at the same time. i will dance a snow dance while there in an attempt to bring an end to this high pressure which is rooted in the great salt lake basin. i will see both ends of the ridge. following my quest for snow i will be descending upon the filth and hell that is las vegas nevada. i will attempt to be pure, i will laugh at the overweight others from places far away, i will scoff at their vices and their debilitations, and then as always i will succomb. i will become one of them, sharing in their sloth and drunkenness, their highs and lows, and eventually emerging guilt ridden and angry and craving a trip to the pure white snow or cold quenching water of northern california to be rebaptized and hopefully refreshed in the state i call home.
